A real treat is in store for art lovers in the Hoboken area. It could be a treat for people who aren’t lovers, also. In fact, it could turn you into an art lover. It’s the 32nd Annual Hoboken Artist’s Studio Tour set for November 9.
This is a great opportunity for people to see the behind-the-scenes part of art. It’s a free, self-guided walking tour with over 25 stops. You can spend more time with the genre or medium that most interests you. There is a huge assortment of forms and styles to study. Many of the, photographers and sculptors will be available for you to meet and observe in the creation of their art. If you’re a budding artist, it’s a real opportunity to study styles and techniques.
On the days preceding the tour, there are marvelous events you can attend, including, but not limited to: a reception on Friday, November 7 for artist Lou Carbone, also on Friday, a beginners Tango demonstration at Bienvenue Dance Center, and a party on Saturday, November 8 at Paul Vincent Gallery.
On the day of the tour, there are a variety of activities you can attend. The musical performances will cover just about any taste. Classical strings will be heard, as well as jazz and even rock music. Techniques for the art of mosaics, weaving, beadwork and watercolor will be demonstrated. The other activities on Sunday include casting for models, stained glass window displays, and even a cookbook signing to fight breast cancer.
