It looks like the heat may be coming to an end here in the Hoboken/Jersey City area, now that it’s almost autumn. Since it’s more comfortable to be outside, there are a lot of fall activities you can attend.

Kick things off with the All About Downtown Jersey City Street Fair. It’s an incredible array of local merchants and talents. You can sample the wares of the best food trucks, and get deals on locally produced crafts and products. Click here for more information.

Another one of the highlights of the year, of course, is the Hoboken Fall Festival. No fewer than three stages will have live entertainment. Spyro Gyra will be a huge draw, since Julio Fernandez, one of our own is featured. Other groups too numerous to mention will perform. Besides that, there is something for everyone in the family, from fine arts, to crafts, to children’s activities, like face painting and sand art. Foodies won’t be disappointed, either, since there are lots of ethnic foods offered. Here’s a link to the rundown.

Here’s a fun thing to do! Brick Fest Live is coming to Hudson County this year. LEGO fans will know that this is all about LEGOS. Here’s the link for more details.

October is the time for barbeques, so let’s check out the Rock the BBQ Festival at MetLife Stadium. Besides lots of good food, there will be live entertainment, games, arts and crafts booths, and activities for the whole family. Here’s the link for all the fun.

Of course, it’s harvest time, too. That means the local farmers markets will be booming! Get great, locally grown produce, as well as many homemade artifacts, clothing, and more. Here is a link to just some of the local farmers markets. A quick internet search will yield more.

Some people are born to run, so naturally, there are a lot of races in the area. If you want to begin training your kids to run, the Healthy Kids Running Series is the ticket. Here’s a link. There are far too many runs to name them all, but here’s a link to a site that can show you runs all over the country. It’s set on the Hudson County runs.

Hudson County also is a booming arts and culture venue. Museums for every genre, and theaters for the various performing arts are there for the viewing. Here’s a link to the wide world of culture in Hudson County. No matter how active, or staid you like it, there’s something for you in New Jersey!
