It’s here! Spring has come, even if the weather here in the Hoboken/Jersey City area doesn’t yet indicate it. That means good weather can’t be too far off. People will emerge from their cozy abodes, take a few deep breaths, and look around for somewhere to go.
With spring comes the urge to clean things out, and to redecorate. Both of these activities can be aided by a visit (or two) to the Pacific Flea Antique and Artists Market, Better known as Pacific Flea. It runs on the second Saturday of the month, from April 8 through October 14. You can sell and/or buy your white elephants, your homemade goodies, or your handmade items. See you at the Flea!
Satisfy your sweet tooth at the Midnight Market Jersey City Dessert First. This adult foodie event, on April 4, is located at the Harborside Atrium, and features the most scrumptious delicacies around. (There’s also some “real” food, in case you’re interested.)
Catch up on the latest products of local and regional businesses and restaurants on April 20, at the North Bergen Expo and Taste of the Gold Coast! If you wish to be a vendor, there are links at the site indicated above.
Earth Day, April 22, is an international event, but the very best celebration will be held in Liberty State park, with Lady Liberty herself presiding over the activities, which include food, rides, exhibits, and lots of fun for the whole family!
Have fun and enjoy lots of entertainment while helping disadvantaged children at the Asbury Park Music & Film festival! It runs April 21-23 at the Paramount theater.
If you like going downtown in Jersey City, you’ll love the 6th Borough Market, held every first and third Sunday of the month, from May 7 through October 15. Arts, crafts, and vintage items, are augmented by great food and lots of family activities.
Food Trucks are a famous staple in Jersey. That’s why you will want to taste the wares of many of these iconic mobile vendors in one spot, on May 6, at the Kearny Food Truck Festival. Besides the food trucks, vendors of only the most interesting items are invited to display.
