Autumn has come to the Hoboken/Jersey City area! There’s a nip in the air, the leaves are turning and falling and people are putting up their Halloween displays. Here are a few events you may want to attend in the area this Fall.

There is still time to take advantage of the local produce, honey, handmade items and the other wonderful things you can get at the farmers markets. Here is a link to a list of markets in the area. Jersey City’s Office of Cultural Affairs has a month long celebration of the Arts featured in JCAST. It’s called ARTober, JC. Each week, they highlight art and cultural events within a specific ward. It’s a chance to zero in on your favorite spots, or if you are an artist to call more attention to your exhibit. You can follow this link for more information.

If you are a bargain hunter, you won’t want to miss the second annual Harvest Bargain Festival at the Bergen-Lafayette Montessori School. With a fall theme, local merchants are on hand with antiques, vintage clothing, kids’ clothing and lots more. Check here for details.

Of course, there are numerous events centering on Halloween. You can go to various haunted premises, and be frightened out of your wits with zombies, vampires and the like. If you prefer, there are places that are showing scary movies and theaters that feature spooky plays. You don’t have to be scared to death, though.
